Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association
SCCLA is grateful for your generous support of our free monthly Legal Clinic. In light of the continuing COVID-19 public health concerns, we have cancelled August's Legal Clinic.
We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. With respect to next month's Legal Clinic, SCCLA shall provide further updates as the date approaches.
SCC"LAW" PROBONO LEGAL CLINIC
SCCLA offers a monthly free legal clinic in San Gabriel, California.
*Assistance in Cantonese/Mandarin/English.
This event is co-sponsored by the Asian Pacific American Legal Center, Asian Youth Center, the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, and the Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles.
Litigants will be able to meet with licensed attorneys and obtain legal information on a variety of legal problems in English or Chinese, including Mandarin and Cantonese.
We very much need volunteering attorneys and Chinese-language interpreters (law students and/or community members).
Litigants generally have questions in the areas of family, immigration, business, employment, criminal, and real estate law. We also see needs in estate planning, probate, bankruptcy, and consumer law areas. There are also few litigants that have questions regarding Intellectual Property rights or international law (dealing specifically with China or Hong Kong), etc..
Every third Wednesday of the Month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Asian Youth Center
100 W. Clary Ave., San Gabriel, CA 91776
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
We encourage volunteers to arrive early at 6 pm for a mini orientation and complimentary light dinner.

On July 21, SCCLA fed people experiencing homelessness. People experiencing homelessness are among the most affected by the pandemic. We partnered with Union Station Homeless Services in Pasadena, which provides the most vulnerable members of our society with housing first, so they may stabilize and receive support to stay housed and reintegrate into the community.
On August 4, SCCLA fed women experiencing homelessness with soul food boxed lunches to 120 individuals sheltering in place at the Downtown Women's Center central location in Skid Row. These women have experienced homelessness and are living in poverty, all while weathering the pandemic.
On September 1, SCCLA fed skilled nursing facility staff at Kei-Ai South Bay: "We are so grateful. What a great boost to the morale here at our facility. It really meant a lot to our team to be appreciated in such a nice way. The food was delicious as well.
SCCLA thanks our SCCLA Cares donors, without whom none of this would be possible.

What is SCCLA Cares?
As we all continue to adapt to the new norm during COVID-19, SCCLA would like to do our part for our community.
Through SCCLA Cares, our fundraising campaign, we will use 100% of donations to purchase meals from local restaurants or food trucks to feed our community, such as frontline medical responders, the elderly, and those impacted by the pandemic.
If you know of a local restaurant or community that would like to participate, we'd love to hear from you. Stay tuned for future fundraisers and updates on our fundraising goals. Thank you for supporting your local eateries and communities.
Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions, comments, or feedback.
Thank you and stay safe.
